Pietro Mascagni ( 1863 - 1945 ) was e very well known personality of his time, a real phenomenon.He was an excellent musician,a famous composer of operas, for the cinema and an orchestra director. With the triumph of his opera "Cavalleria Rusticana" he kept high interest in the major theatres of the world for over half a century. The "Cavalleria Rusticana" is an opera in one act , adapted from a play written by Giovanni Verga. It is considered one of the classic verismo operas. It premiered in 1890 and espescially its "Intermezzo" has become famous.
